UNCHARTED was founded in 2017 by Ko Wen Wu, whose journey from medicine to adventure began during his university years in Russia, where he spent six years studying medical science and became fluent in Russian. During this time abroad, Ko discovered his true passion for travel and exploration as he backpacked across Europe and Russia, immersing himself in diverse cultures and dramatic landscapes. He has been traveling on the Trans-Siberian Railway since 2013, deepening his connection to Russia’s vast geography and unique way of life. What began as organizing small trips for friends soon grew into leading group tours, and after graduation, he transitioned fully into guiding tours across Russia and Europe. To date, Ko has traveled to 78 countries, gaining extensive firsthand experience and a broad global perspective. In its early days, Uncharted flourished through word-of-mouth private tours, built on Ko’s authentic enthusiasm, personal connections, and his love for crafting unforgettable travel experiences.
